The Ozaukee Washington Land Trust, Inc. received a grant to restore and improve forests, wetlands, and prairies on 1,000 acres of critical habitat in the Lake Michigan Basin.  Restoration activities included invasive plant removal on 600 acres, planting of 10,000 tree seedlings, and enhancing 4 miles of stream bank buffer.  In addition the project educated volunteers who assisted with restoration, stewardship, and monitoring. Ozaukee Washington Land Trust, Inc. developed a comprehensive plan to protect the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust Lake Michigan Shoreline project area and migratory flyway.  The goal of the project was to ultimately improve the habitat and water quality in Lake Michigan.
