The Sandusky River Watershed Coalition received a grant to work with local farmers to demonstrate the potential benefits of using herbaceous cover to reduce peak runoff events and enroll them in USDA programs to establish either seasonal or permanent cover crops.  These sites were then monitored to determine the actual reduction in peak runoff.  Results of the project were shared through a series of field days as well as through a series of local newsletters.
