Tug Hill plateau near Pulaski, NY

The Nature Conservancy conducted comprehensive roadside mapping of invasive species populations on portions of the Tug Hill plateau in New York.  The project revised and updated the list of invasive species that threaten Tug Hill and created an invasive plant identification guide that could then be shared with St. Lawrence Eastern Lake Ontario Partnership for Invasive Species Management Partners, interested landowners and land managers, state and local transportation departments, local government officials, and other interested individuals.  The Nature Conservancy collaborated with state and local departments of transportation to develop tools, resources, and a training workshop to enable agency employees to be involved in identifying and monitoring invasive species and adopting best management practices to eradicate or control the spread of invasive species.
