The Barry Conservation District developed a watershed management plan to address critical conservation and development issues within the Thornapple watershed. Thornapple Lake, located in southwest Michigan, is an important fishery that has suffered reduced biodiversity, declining water quality, and increased bank instability associated with increased development in the area. Plan development focused on water quality and was structured to maximize public involvement. Project partners included the Thornapple River Watershed Council, Barry County Land-Information Services, and NRCS.
