The Brown County Land Conservation Department worked with farmers and other landowners to enhance spawning habitat for northern pike, a predator fish that resides in Green Bay. The project reduced sediment and nutrient loads in addition to improving water quality by establishing vegetated riparian buffers and restoring and enhancing wetland areas in the watershed. Four culverts were replaced and to restore fish passage to 9 river miles. A total of 5 miles of buffers were established including 20.76 acres of grass buffers and 14 acres of tree buffers and six acres of wetlands restored.
