The Nature Conservancy, in conjunction with Michigan State University and The Stewardship Network implemented a program of conservation areas planning, stewardship, landowner outreach, and research to protect high priority sites in Southeast Michigan.  This effort produced a conservation plan for the Southeast Michigan Headwaters areas as well as site specific plans for 13 priority areas within the region.  In addition, the project held three training sessions and twenty work days for stewardship volunteers which resulted in invasive species control on 750 acres in 10 different sites.  Finally, this effort included the development of a research and demonstration project to inform landowner of best practices for wetlands restoration.
