The Oakland Land Conservancy  worked with partners to prepare a plan to manage habitat along a stretch of the Rouge River.  This plan utilized opportunities to develop “green” infrastructure on 56 acres of riparian habitat to enhance fish and wildlife resources in this relatively urban, intact corridor.  In addition, the project developed and implemented four demonstration restoration projects that serve as a vehicle for public involvement and education as well as habitat enhancement.  Finally, the Conservancy conducted outreach to private landowners in the project area through an educational workshop on private land management.
