The River Raisin Institute, in conjunction with the local school districts, and state and local government, identified and designed 10 small restoration projects that were implemented in order to improve fish and wildlife habitat and water quality in the River Raisin watershed.  Projects included wetlands vegetative and hydrologic restoration, invasive plant removal, and stormwater management techniques.  A total of 15 acres of riparian and wetland habitat were restored. When all restoration projects were completed, a restoration forum was organized to share information about each project with the public and bring attention to the environmental restoration needs of the watershed.
