In cooperation with the Iron County Conservation Department, the National Parks Service and other partners in the Northwoods Cooperative Weed Management Area, the Bay County Land and Water Conservation Department  provided education, resources and tools to local communities and land owners to help them prevent and control threatening invasive species in the Lake Superior watershed.  Project activities involved town board presentations, local work crew workshops, five field days annually for two years, a booth at the local Farmer’s Market, and informational signs posted at demonstration sites.  Product outcomes aimed to control of invasive species on 100 acres of coastal watershed and educational outreach to more than 560 new community members.
