The Nature Conservancy increased the quality of plover nesting habitat and improve reproductive success. The project surveyed 38 miles of plover habitat for nesting pairs and monitored at least 6 breeding territories and the associated nests. In addition, the project identified, mapped and removed invasive plant species that directly limited availability of habitat in and around plover breeding territories. The Nature Conservancy also provided educational information to visitors near plover nesting sites and salvage abandoned plover eggs for captive rearing and release of plover chicks.
