Credit River in Georgetown, ON

The Credit River Anglers Association built a fully functional fish ladder at the Norval Dam as outlined as a core component in the Credit River Fisheries Management Plan (CRFMP) (MNR 2003), to allow passage of reintroduced Atlantic salmon (Extirpated 1896) and allow passage of other threatened and endangered fish species including reside dace, American Eel and lake sturgeon. This project also restored a total of 130 miles of fish passage. The fishway will also benefit other desired game fish including steelhead, brook trout, brown trout, smallmouth bass and dozens of native minnows.
