The Delta Conservation District, in conjunction with several local partners, developed a streambank stabilization project to restore habitat along .23 miles of the Ford River.  The project utilized bioengineering techniques to stabilize eroding banks and reduce the sediment load carried by the river to Lake Michigan.  The project was estimated to reduce soil erosion by 1,100 tons annually into the Lake.
