The Regents of the University of Michigan conducted ongoing and new restoration activities on 250 acres of riparian habitat along Fleming Creek.  Restoration activities included: prescribed burning, invasive species control, planting of native seed, care for 150 disease-resistant elms planted during a previous project phase, and educational workshops.  This work contributed to species of conservation concern, such as eastern massasauge rattlesnake, Duke’s skipper, small white lady’s slipper, and many other species of plants and wildlife.
