Gathering Waters Conservancy, in partnership with non-profit land trusts and other Federal, State and tribal partners, produced a regional conservation plan for Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan Basin.  The plan was developed to ensure the strategic protection of the most ecologically important areas in the Wisconsin portion of the watershed.  To develop the plan, Gathering Waters Conservancy and its partners used the Trust for Public Land’s Greenprint model, which integrated sound science and community values regarding land conservation.  The success of the plan was measured in acres protected, sensitive sites restored, and natural treasures preserved.
